(OE) opened its doors 30 years ago when Alvin H. Ordes, Sr. started the business in New Orleans as a small electrical contracting firm. The hard work and dedication of its owner and employees allowed the company to flourish into a leading electrical constractor. OE is a family owned and operated company in New Orleans, LA that takes pride in its dedication to providing top notch service to its customers. After Hurricane Katrina, OE doubled its effort to achieve remarkable results in the relief efforts for all the projects it touched. Pride of com- munity and work ethic are essential in rebuilding the state of Louisiana after such a devastating natural disaster. As the state continues to recover, OE remains engaged and working on rebuilding projects. OE's commitment shows in every project it takes on, regardless of the size and scope. No project is too big or too small, OE focuses on every detail to avoid costly mistakes and the savings from these efforts are passed to the customers, building lasting relationships. OE primarily performs work in the state of Louisiana and Mississippi. R E S TAU R A N T P R O J E C T OE has worked on projects ranging from tenant build-outs, medical facilities, refineries, industrial sites, hospitals, schools, parking garages, government facilities, churches, and manufacturing plants. When a well-known property management company in Louisiana decided to venture into the restaurant business, they turned to OE for their electrical needs in the new construction. Repeat business is something that is a testi- mony to OE's commitment to excellence and quality. The contract was for a Pizzeria called "The Mellow Mushroom". The first Mellow Mushroom opened in 1974 by three college students near Georgia Tech. Now the franchise numbers over a 100 stores, with locations in over 16 states. OE was tasked with performing all the electrical work for their new location in Metairie, LA, which is a suburb of New Orleans. OE performed value engineering on this project to adapt to the changing needs and demands of the owner. The takeoff was modified due to change order requests. The location of panel boards and feeders were modified, along with the main switch gear.
